From paddock to plate.

As farmers, meatsmiths and artisan producers, we like to do things slowly. And that means... We live and breathe local. We stand for the whole hog. We favour natural over artificial. We value quality over quantity.
It's simple, but hard work.

THE FARM

Our 44ha farm is located in Lebrina, a peaceful township in Tasmania's East Tamar Valley.
 
At Fork it Farm we primarily raise heritage Berkshire pigs on open pastures, but our farm is also home to sheep, cattle, poultry, bees, orchards and a kitchen garden.
 
The farming methods and beliefs we use, from grazing rotations to slaughter, preserve and protect the land we live on and respect the animals we raise from birth until their sacrificing for the food on our plates.

As far as certifications go, we believe in actions, not labels. Our products reflect our beliefs in respecting our animals, raising them with the utmost care and comfort and in feeding our customers only what we feed our family - the highest quality meats raised as naturally and humanely as possible.

THE MEATSHED

Built in 2019, this is where Daniel works his magic! Our purpose built meatshed allows us to butcher onsite and create simple delicious products, bring our customers a truly paddock to plate product.
 
We are proud to practise whole animal butchery at Fork it Farm: this means that we use every part of the animal to make our products and we have designed our product range based on this ethos. 
 
Waste from production is composted or pyrolised into biochar and used as fertiliser.
 
Selling our product directly to our customers reduces the number of steps in the supply chain, reduces food miles and strengthens our local food system.
